If you have not seen the gruesome video of how a Nigerian policeman-Sergeant Sunday Badang- of the anti-bomb unit approached an undetonated roadside bomb in Kaduna without caution. You sure then need to view it. We just sent a young man to his early grave.
It is inconceivable that the perimeter was not cleared of ‘SPECTATORS’. The crowd cheered on, as if it is a Spanish game of bull fighting, you won’t be wrong to assume you are in Spain and it is the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona.
Sergeant Badang became the red cloth and Boko-Harram bomb became the bull. We cheered him to his death; he was holding a METAL DETECTOR. What a SICK COUNTRY. A bomb disposal ‘expert’ using a METAL DETECTOR to deactivate a DEADLY IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE?
With his bare hands Crowd cheering no evacuation of perimeter & he gets blown up into pieces, what happened to the ONE TRILLION NAIRA security budget? Can’t we get a motorised Explosive Ordnance Disposal out of the fat security votes? Our security agents are now more like guinea pigs in Boko-Harrams bomb laboratory.

Don't u think ur argument is a little twisted? Was he sent? Were there not other times bombs hav been difused in naija? So why did he approach the unknown package witout any caution? I really don't blame him but to blog that he ws sent is error in its totality

ReplyDeletethis could have been avoided giventhe right tools/training and policies. but oh no, all the necessary funds havebeen squandered without remorse or accountability. this is heartbreaking gory stuff.
Was Badang ordered to approach the bomb? If so, the superior that ordered him should be tried. On the other hand, was he just trying to be a hero? Then he must be a moron. What about his superiors who were at the scene? They should have stopped him.

ReplyDeletepls who is this Anonymous guy saying. someone dies like that and you say couldn't he go with caution. how many bomb has Naija detonated that you have seen, you only hear of it not witness. so pls there is no proper training for this guys, they just waste their lives for nothing. left for me i would advised him to just leave the bomb there so it can detonate at least there wont be any casualty. my opinion......

ReplyDeleteI am short of words,@ 1trillion security budget, u can b rest assured dat security high command,vips(d presidency,governors etc) wld b able to fund for latest bullet proof cars n jeeps,n their BG's wld also b allocated latest weapons as they already do,since they bliv proper security is meant for themselves n their families @ our expense.

There is no way a trained ordance expert will approach the suspected bomb package without proper precaution. you will also noticed that the other policemen at the other side of the road don't look like they were there to diffuse the bomb.We need to be careful before jumping into conclusion. @vicksroyale

ReplyDeleteIT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE SO-CALLED POLICE TRAINING COLLEGES ARE MERE PLAYING GROUNDS WHERE POLICE ARE TRAINED WITHOUT HAVING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SELF PROTECTION AND SAFETY TALK LESS OF OTHER PEOPLE'S SAFETY AS EVIDENT IN THIS VIDEO. IT IS DISHEARTENING TO SAY HIS LIFE IS WORTHLESS THAT ONLY 500,000 NAIRA WAS GIVEN TO HIS FAMILY AFTER WHICH HIS ENTITLEMENT WILL BE STOLEN LIVING HIS FAMILY TO BEG FOR EVEN THE FOOD TO IT.THIS SEEMS TO BE A LOCAL EXPLOSIVE HAD IT BEEN IT WAS A GENUINE ONE ALL THOSE VIEWERS WOULD HAVE BEEN CORPSE BY NOW DUE TO INCOMPETENCY IN THE PART OF NIGERIA POLICE FORCE,BECAUSE THE POLICE PERSONNEL ARE NOT EDUCATED ON THE EFFECT OF EXPLOSIVE, THE CO-ORDINATES TO BE CONSIDERED AND THE DISTANCE TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN EVACUATING AREAS SUSPECTED TO CONTAIN EXPLOSIVE. DESPITE THE HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY SPENT AND THE INCIDENCE OF BOMBINGS TAKING PLACE IN THE COUNTRY STILL NIGERIA DID NOT ACQUIRE FACILITIES TO HANDLE SUCH EXPLOSIVES WITHOUT RISKING INNOCENT LIVES, THIS IS TO TELL YOU THOSE ABOVE ARE THE ONES PLANNING ALL THESE ATTACKS, THEY KNOW IT WILL NEVER AFFECT THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SPONSORS AS SUCH WILL NEVER CARE TO FIND AN END TO THESE PROBLEMS.
