Former 234NEXT editor responsible for Jonathan's Independence day lies:

President Jonathan query S.A. Research & Strategy Mr Oronto Douglas.

Former 234NEXT EDITOR Molara Wood who now works in Aso Rock as a "research consultant" reported to have included unsubstantiated business day article claiming Transparency International had issued a ‘recent’ statement acknowledging Jonathan's commitment in the fight against corruption, the false statement is reported to have been included by Ms. Wood during final editing.

Despite the disjointed rejoinder by the presidency, an embarrassed Jonathan is reported to be unhappy with the display of incompetence by his research and strategy directorate.

More embarrassing is a statement issued by a Reno Omokri that Nigerian Presidency takes "unchallenged Newspaper reports as a NOTORIOUS TRUTH".

Mr Omokri is a personal assistant to President Jonathan's special adviser on research and strategy. In a new twist Aso Rock sources insist the position of S.A. to the president on social media is non-existence.

Transparency International False Claims: Lying Nigerian President Blames Bussinesday Newspaper

CHRONIC LIAR GOODLUCK JONATHAN FAIL TO APOLOGIES OVER TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL CLAIMS.

Ministry of Information now claims "PRESIDENT WAS REFERRING TO ANALYSIS BY A NIGERIAN NEWSPAPER (BUSINESS DAY) ON TI CPI OF 2011. The world should note that TRANSPARENCIE’S CPI Index was released even before GEJ was sworn in. I called TI UK AND GERMANY OFFICE THEY DEBUNKED GEJ'S CLAIMS.
Nigerian media Premium Times received email message from TI stating thus

“Transparency International does not have a recent rating or report that places Nigeria as the second most improved country in the fight against corruption,” Transparency International in email response to Nigerian Media Premium Times

Having been exposed by Nigerians who verified the Presidents Independence day LIES Minister of Information Labaran Maku who claimed last year that President Jonathan "Introduced Nigerians to Facebook" released a lame denial bellow which exactly the argument we have been saying that the CPI index has been available and it is dubious for Nigeria's President to refer to it as a "recent TI statement acknowledging Nigeria's fight against corruption. TI DID NOT ISSUE ANY SUCH STATEMENT. WILL GEJ AND HIS ADVISERS APOLOGISE? DO NOT COUNT ON IT!

Copy of Release by Labaran Maku's information ministry bellow signed by Reno Omokri a Personal Assistant to President Jonathan's Special Adviser on Research and Strategy Mr Oronto Douglas

Mr. President’s statement was based on notorious facts
: October 2nd, 2012 : featured, Features, Press Releases

Our attention has been drawn to reports from some opposition leaning media houses alleging that Mr. President made some false claims about Nigeria’s standing in this year’s Transparency International anti corruption rating.

As is the practice worldwide, we accept the premise that whatever is published in the media and goes unchallenged is the truth. On this issue, the media published their synopsis of the most recent Transparency International report and BusinessDay, a well respected newspaper with a bias for business reporting in a headline on the 12th of September 2012 with the titled ‘FG’s anti-corruption initiative impacts Nigeria’s global perception’ said “The survey on global corruption perceptions for 2011 versus 2001 showed that the third best improvement in the world was in Nigeria, with its score improving by 1.5 points”.

The above quoted comments were relied upon in coming to the conclusion that Mr. President honestly came to in good faith. To this day, Transparency International has not disputed the findings of BusinessDay.

For a section of the opposition to now cast aspersions on the integrity of the President when he relied on notorious facts (anything published in the press and which remains unchallenged is a notorious fact) is proof positive of the now obvious fact that they lack ideas on how to move Nigeria forward and would rather snipe at efforts of the President to move the nation forward for which any patriot would do.

In conclusion the President acted in good faith and his statement was based on notorious facts and are evidenced by recent breakthroughs in fighting corruption in the oil industry where subsidy fraud suspects are already facing trial as well as in the Agricultural Sector where decades old corrupt practices in the fertilizer distribution network have been eradicated via the voucher system which cuts off the middle man.

Regards,

Reno

Nigerian President or Transparency International! Who is LYING?

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan informed his 160 Million people that Transparency International just gave the country a clean bill of health in the fight against corruption.

The President credited transparency international as saying “Nigeria is ONLY SECOND TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in the fight against corruption.”

I called TI UK office and the Germany office and no one is able to send me a link or confirm the assertion made by the Nigerian President to the Nigerian people.

It is too early to claim President Jonathan as selling pokies to the Nigerian people but it is important either TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL or President Jonathan come clean on the issue. Corruption is endemic in Nigeria and it is important whatever statement is coming from the highest office in Nigeria is backed by evidence and not fiction.

Rachel Davies of Transparency International UK called the claims “Strange” but promised to get back to see if she is able to get ANY TI statement backing the claims of the Nigerian President.

I called the German office of TI and was told the report is news to them as they are hearing about the news for the first time. Curiously the German office could not direct me to a link.

A search on Transparency International web portal did not produce any evidence backing the Nigerian Presidents claims.

Curiously TI still rank Nigeria as the 143rd most corrupt country in the world out of 183 countries United States of America is ranked 24 out of 183 countries.

Video: Nigerian Diplomats join poor Nations in UN wasteful Spending Spree!

U.N. delegation visitors from some of the world's poorest countries are spending lavishly in New York City during the General Assembly

As diplomats congregate for the United Nations General Assembly, delegations from some of the poorest countries in the world are spending extravagantly in New York City while their homelands struggle, NBC 4 New York's I-Team has discovered.
“The lavish spending is just endemic of autocratic politics as a whole,” said Alastair Smith, a politics professor from New York University and co-author of “The Diplomat’s Handbook.”
He believes the U.N.’s Manhattan address has become a distraction from the intended work of the General Assembly.
“They are here for the shopping, the food the wine, the dining. If it was in a less attractive place, I'm sure fewer people would want to come as hangers-on,” said Smith.
On Monday, I-Team cameras found several visitors with the U.N. delegation from Swaziland walking out of high-end retailer Bergdorf Goodman. The women had Bergdorf Goodman shopping bags, though they said the items inside were just gifts.
According to U.N. data, nearly 70 percent of Swazi people survive on less than $2 a day. The nation has one of the highest AIDS rates: 18 percent of the population is HIV positive.
Despite those struggles back home, numerous members of the Swaziland U.N. entourage are staying at the luxury Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the I-Team has learned.
Also staying at the Mandarin Oriental were members of the delegation from Togo. According to one U.N. report, 2.4 million Togolese citizens live on less than $1.25 a day.
Diplomats from Gabon were staying at the Plaza Hotel, where rooms go for a $1,000 to $15,000 a night.
Nigeria’s delegation is keeping five vehicles parked outside the Pierre Hotel where the cheapest room is about $800 a night – or roughly what most Nigerians earn in two years.
At the Waldorf-Astoria, where rooms are between $800 and $9,000 a night, the I-Team found the delegation from Mali, a country where 4.6 million people are battling starvation. A recent U.N. report found Mali is the third poorest nation in the world with a poverty rate near 87 percent.
To be fair, not every poor nation spent so much for hotel accommodations: Members of the Tanzania delegation were found staying at a DoubleTree hotel in Midtown.
Although it may be unseemly for diplomats from poor countries to live ostentatiously during their stays in Manhattan, advocates for business point out there is an undeniable upside to much of the diplomatic extravagance – the boon for New York City’s local economy.
"I don't think it is really up to us to moderate the type of spending that comes from other countries. That's their business,” said Nancy Ploeger, president of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce. “What I'm concerned with is the economic impact on this city. I like the money. I want the money!"
None of the permanent missions to the UN from Togo, Swaziland, Gabon, Mali or Nigeria returned calls or emails relating to this story.
Nonprofits that monitor developing nations are also becoming increasingly sensitive to the issue of third world rulers spending lavishly abroad.
The group “100 Reporters” is actually holding a contest asking New Yorkers to snap photos of UN diplomats spending ostentatiously.
By one estimate, the ruling classes of third-world nations divert as much as $1 trillion from their developing economies to spend and invest the funds in the U.S. and other Western nations.
“The real underlying motivation for the movement of so much money out of developing countries is the hidden accumulation of wealth,” said Raymond Baker, executive director of Global Financial Integrity, a nonprofit watchdog that monitors capital flows into and out of impoverished countries.
“This is about getting rich secretly and not having to distribute those funds locally,” Baker said.Get the latest headlines sent to your inbox!
